Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and business-focused leader for the role of AVP / VP – MICE to head our MICE vertical. The ideal candidate will bring strategic direction, business development capabilities, and operational excellence to scale up our domestic and international MICE portfolio. This is a high-impact role offering significant autonomy and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the long-term strategy and business roadmap for the MICE division.
- Drive innovation in MICE offerings and expand service portfolios across new sectors and geographies.
- Own P&L responsibility for the MICE vertical, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with C-suite leadership to align MICE goals with the organization’s vision.
Business Development & Client Engagement:
- Acquire and manage high-value corporate clients and government accounts for large-scale MICE programs.
- Lead pitch presentations, proposals, and strategic negotiations with CXOs and procurement heads.
- Foster long-term partnerships with key accounts, ensuring consistent business inflow and client retention.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
- Build and manage a global network of DMCs, hotels, venues, and service providers.
- Negotiate high-value contracts and SLAs with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and service reliability.
Team Leadership:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing MICE sales, operations, and contracting team.
- Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and drive accountability across functions.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Execution Oversight:
- Ensure flawless execution of events, incentive tours, conferences, and exhibitions both in India and abroad.
- Oversee event budgets, travel logistics, onsite coordination, and client satisfaction.
- Implement robust processes for risk management, vendor compliance, and service quality.
Key Requirements:
- Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Travel, Hospitality, or Event Management. MBA preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in MICE, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of building and scaling large MICE businesses.
- Strong network of corporate clients, event partners, and international vendors.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, team leadership, budgeting, and client engagement.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and strategic thinking skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.
